The problem
Auto-trace is a separation nightmare
Run a JPG through a trace and every bit of compression noise becomes its own shade. The “two-color” logo arrives as thirty-eight swatches, the edges between them are jagged, and someone in the art department spends an hour merging and cleaning before a single screen can be burned.
A hand redraw starts from the other end. Each color in the mark is one flat, named spot swatch. Shapes are closed, trapped where they touch, and sit on their own layer. The art is ready to separate because it was built to separate.

Questions screen printers ask
Do you do color separations?
Spot-color separations are available on request on Complex tier jobs — each solid color on its own named layer, ready to output. Simulated process, halftone and underbase work is quoted per job. Say what you need in the notes.
Can you prepare a logo for embroidery digitizing?
We deliver a clean vector with flat spot colors and simplified detail where you ask for it, which is what a digitizer wants to start from. We do not sell digitizing or stitch files.
What about the one-color version?
Black and reversed versions come with every job at every tier, no extra charge. That covers a one-color print, a left-chest, and the knockout for a dark garment.
How do you handle gradients in a logo going to screen print?
Tell us the job is going to screen. Where the original has a gradient we can rebuild it as a stepped spot-color version, or keep the true gradient in the master and give you both.
